Easy Champagne Cocktails
I made a few Champagne cocktails for the BevMo! blog today. They are so good I just had to post them here. What I like about them is that they are really simple to make, and they're not syrupy sweet. All the ingredients are basic bar items. They were designed to be used with Moet & Chandon, but you can use any sparkling wine you have on hand. I used a Brut Prosecco. It was perfect.
Bijou Cocktail
Recipe by Elettra Wiedermann
2 ounce The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
1 ounce Sweet Vermouth
2 dash orange bitters
Brandied cherry
Champagne or Sparkling Wine (Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial or whatever Brut you have on hand)
Combine Sweet Vermouth, Gin and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker over ice and pour into a coupe glass. Top with Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial to taste, and garnish with a brandied cherry and a tiny bit of the cherry syrup.
Starlet Cocktail
Recipe by Elettra Wiedermann
½ ounce Reyka Vodka
½ ounce Cointreau
½ teaspoon honey
Champagne or Sparkling Wine (Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial or Brut, that's what I had in the house.)
Combine Vodka, Cointreau and honey in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and pour into a white wine glass. Top with Moet & Chandon Rosé Impérial.
